Bryan Danielson’s full-time wrestling is over as Jon Moxley wins AEW World Title, Wheeler Yuta joins BCC post-match attack

Bryan Danielson’s full-time career came to an end on Saturday after Jon Moxley won the AEW World Title.

Moxley’s win was followed by a full-scale attack by a reunited Blackpool Combat Club, including Wheeler Yuta.

The main event of WrestleDream 2024 got off to a chaotic start as Moxley attacked Danielson before the bell. The two then brawled for several minutes while ‘The Final Countdown’ continued to play.

Once the match officially began, Moxley mercilessly went after Danielson’s neck. As referee Bryce Remsburg was distracted, Marina Shafir took the chance to also strike the neck.

Shafir continued to assist by rolling back the padding from part of the ringside area. Moxley attempted a piledriver on the concrete but this was countered into a back body drop.

Moxley would regain the upper hand, pulling away Danielson’s Kinesio Tape and going back after the neck.

Danielson rallied and was set to deliver some decisive Yes Kicks when Shafir grabbed his leg. This time, her interference was spotted and she was ejected by Remsburg.

Soon after, a Busaiku Knee led to a big near-fall. Moxley then escaped the LeBell Lock. A dive from Danielson was countered into a spike on the concrete floor. This only yielded a two-count.

A sudden end came as Moxley placed Danielson in a chokehold until the referee stopped the match.

After the bell, the Blackpool Combat Club attacked Danielson until Wheeler Yuta and Darby Allin ran to the ring. Wheeler turned on Danielson, though, placing a plastic bag over his head.

The BCC then placed a chair on Danielson’s neck and Castagnoli stomped on him. Babyfaces from the back finally ran to the ring as the BCC left the carnage.

Danielson was placed on a stretcher in a somber scene as the pay-per-view went off the air.
