Proud moments from King’s time in AEW.
It’s been two years since Brody King arrived to All Elite Wrestling. He’s a member of House of Black alongside Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews and Julia Hart.
Looking back at his AEW run, King was asked to name some of his proudest moments. He told WRESTLESPHERE that he looks at his 2022 Coffin match against Darby Allin in that light as well as becoming World Trios Champion at Revolution 2023.
That’s a tough question (what moments define my career). I think the moment I was proudest of, I would say there’s two in AEW specifically. One was the Coffin match with Darby (Allin) because that was my first, I guess, breakout moment. My first push into a singles direction. This is gonna sound really funny: I remember being just covered in blood, laying inside of the coffin while it was closed and it was just thinking to myself, like, that was pretty good (he laughed). So that was like my first seal of approval from kind of everybody across the board that, okay, this guy’s good where he’s at and the other one I think would be when we won the Trios Titles against The Elite. My dad and my son were front row. My best friend Colin was there too. At the end, Julia (Hart) went and grabbed my son (and) brought him in the ring and that was just a really special moment for me, for Malakai (Black), for Buddy (Matthews), for my family. It was just like, you know, we made it to the top. That was pretty cool.
King and Allin clashed at the WrestleDream pay-per-view and Allin emerged victorious. Since then, King, Black and Matthews have gone on to pick up two wins in trios action.
