Gage confirmed the story.

There have been two occasions when Jon Moxley and Nick Gage have wrestled for Game Changer Wrestling. The first was in 2021 and their follow-up bout was in 2022.

While guest appearing on a Blvd Bullies YouTube livestream, Gage was asked about a story that circulated which had to do with Moxley demanding GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale to pay him and Gage the same after learning Gage was being paid less.

Gage confirmed the story. He added that he was never concerned about his payout until he came to the realization that he draws a crowd.

I wasn’t there but I know that definitely happened (Jon Moxley demanded Brett Lauderdale to pay him & Nick Gage the same amount). I was there, but I wasn’t in the vicinity… But I know that happened. I sat next to a guy that I was like, ‘Well, are you gonna tell me how much you get paid?’ And he got paid more than I did and I was like, ‘Wow.’ But, at the time before that, I really didn’t care. I was just so focused on wrestling. I was wrestling four times a week. But then I thought about, ‘You know what? There’s a lot of asses I put in these motherf*cking seats…’ I don’t like talking sh*t but just facts are facts. I earned my money.

Lauderdale took to X and posted a series of tweets in response to the interview:

I will now make a shocking revelation:

Yes, I was paying Jon Moxley – a major tv star of nearly a decade, a world champion, and the hottest wrestler in the industry more money than I was paying Nick Gage for their match in GCW.

Yes, at Mox’s request I did end up increasing Nick’s pay for the match, to an amount equal to what he was paid to wrestle Chris Jericho on television.

Not that any of you actually care about Nick, but he is my brother of 20+ years and that will never change.

In this same interview, the hosts repeatedly tried to get him to talk bad about me and he forcefully declined. Nick not only referred to me as his friend, but his FAMILY.

We have been thru alot in 20 years. The real ones know. And to everyone else, go fuck yourself 🤷‍♂️

In the same interview, Gage revealed that his GCW contract was for two years. He provided an update on his relationship with Brett Lauderdale and to read more, click here.
