Umino not a fan of how Moxley’s been conducting himself.
The history between Shota Umino and Jon Moxley dates back to when Moxley first arrived to New Japan Pro-Wrestling in 2019.
Present-day, Moxley is in the midst of his fourth AEW World Title reign and is running roughshod over the company alongside Blackpool Combat Club (Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli & PAC). After the 11/2 NJPW show, Umino expressed in his backstage comments that he’s not a fan of Moxley’s recent actions.
He called out Moxley to meet him in the ring anywhere and anytime. Umino added that since the IWGP World Heavyweight Title match in America, there has been zero contact between them. It was not specified which title match he’s referring to, but at NJPW Resurgence, Moxley defeated Umino to retain the belt.
SANADA, you’re getting hot. But I will definitely pay you back for this debt in Osaka… One more thing, Jon Moxley, right now, the most important thing to me is the fight against SANADA right in front of me… so if I just think about you all night, I won’t find an answer.
But we have the trust we’ve built up so far. There’s time we spent together that no one else would understand; that we couldn’t understand each other. Get in the ring with me, one-on-one. I’ll look you in the eye and I’ll know how you feel. And you will know how I feel. Anytime, anywhere, face-to-face…
I absolutely do not approve of your methods. I know how to fix you. First of all, send me a message, anything is fine. Since the IWGP (World Heavyweight Title match) in America, there has been no message, phone call or exchange. Maybe it’s time.
Umino is gearing up to take on SANADA at NJPW Power Struggle.
Coming up in January is the Wrestle Dynasty show at the Tokyo Dome that’ll feature NJPW, AEW, STARDOM, CMLL and Ring of Honor talents.
