Jesse Ventura will return to the broadcast booth on Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The former Governor of Minnesota will return to WWE on December 14, when the Saturday night franchise will be relaunched on NBC.

The news was revealed on The Bill Simmons Podcast and will see Ventura call his first matches in WWE since a guest host appearance in December 2010.

After health ailments curtailed his in-ring career, Ventura permanently moved to the broadcast position with the then World Wrestling Federation—a post he occupied until leaving the promotion in 1990.

Later, Ventura successfully sued the company over unpaid royalties and was awarded over $800,000.

In 1999, he made a controversial series of appearances for the WWF that came under scrutiny due to his position as the Governor of Minnesota and included a guest referee appearance at that year’s SummerSlam in the state.

This past October, Ventura confirmed he signed a Legends deal with WWE.

Saturday Night’s Main Event will air from Long Island, New York, and includes the following matches:
*Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes © vs. Kevin Owens
*World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther © vs. Finn Balor
*Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan © vs. IYO SKY
*Women’s U.S. Title – Tournament Final
