New Japan’s World Tag League final is set after a sudden death three-way to conclude the B Block portion.

Friday’s show saw three teams tied for the top placement in the block and forced an impromptu three-way tag match involving Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi, Toru Yano & Oleg Boltin, and EVIL & Ren Narita.

The tournament was thrown for a loop after a legitimate injury sidelined HENARE and forced his team with Great O-Khan to forfeit its final round-robin match with Naito & Takahashi.

The IWGP tag champions were in first place heading into Friday’s event before the forfeit.

After Naito & Takahashi moved to ten points due to the forfeiture, they found themselves tied with the other two teams, who were also victorious on Friday. Yano & Boltin defeated TMDK’s Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls and EVIL & Narita beat The Natural Classics. The wins were split and therefore, could not be decided with the tiebreaker forcing the three-way option.

In the main event, Naito & Takahashi prevailed the set the stage for Sunday’s final against Gabe Kidd & SANADA.

This year will end Bishamon’s streak of World Tag League wins after securing the tournament from 2021-23.

SANADA is a two-time World Tag League winner when he was paired with EVIL and won in 2017 & 2018.
