Eddy Thorpe shoves Shawn Michaels after Trick Williams is declared NXT Champion following double pin finish

Thorpe shows his frustration.

The main event of the 12/17 NXT on CW saw Trick Williams defend his NXT Championship against Eddy Thorpe. The bout ended with both talents being three-counted by two separate referees. Referee Adrian Butler was knocked down, so Derek Sanders entered the picture to make the count. While both Williams and Thorpe’s shoulders were on the mat, Butler slide back into the ring and made an additional three-count.

Afterwards, General Manager Ava made her way to ringside and she ultimately declared Williams the champion.

Thorpe showed his frustration and began to shout at Ava. Shawn Michaels made his way out and Thorpe shoved him before referees and Williams separated the two parties.

Williams took Thorpe back into the ring and took him out with a kick. Prior to NXT Deadline, Michaels got physical with Thorpe after he accidentally bumped into Ava while a brawl was taking place behind him.
