Saturday Night’s Main Event returned this past weekend with the show among the top ten prime-time telecasts.
The December 14 special from Long Island averaged 1,590,000 viewers and 0.42 in the 18-49 demographic, per Wrestlenomics and Programming Insider.
The show ranked third among Adults 18-49 in prime time behind the Heisman Trophy presentation on ESPN (0.62), and the NBA Cup game between Houston and Oklahoma City on ABC (0.47).
In overall viewership, Saturday Night’s Main Event ranked seventh behind the Heisman presentation, 48 Hours, NBA Cup, The Santa Class on Hallmark, and Fox’s coverage of Gonzaga vs. Connecticut.
Wrestlenomics confirmed through NBCU that an additional 700,000 viewers streamed the WWE broadcast on Peacock.
This was the first Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcast since August 2008 when the show attracted an audience of 2.35 million viewers on NBC.
The taped edition of AEW Collision from St. Louis averaged 246,000 viewers and 0.09 in the 18-49 demographic on TNT.
The show aired head-to-head with SNME and led to Collision’s lowest audience in its regular timeslot. However, in the core demo, the audience grew from 93,000 viewers last week to 123,000 due to growth among its male audience in the demo.
Collision was headlined by Mark Briscoe vs. Kyle Fletcher in the Continental Classic.
