As the countdown to the end of its run on USA Network continues, WWE Raw hit a two-week high while airing against an NFL doubleheader.
The December 16 edition of Raw from Boston averaged 1,533,000 viewers and 637,000 viewers (0.48) in the 18-49 demographic, which beat everything on cable except the NFL. (Data: Wrestlenomics and Programming Insider)
This week’s viewership increased by 11% from last week while the 18-49 audience improved by 10% representing a two-week high in each category. In the core demo, Raw was the most watched non-football programming among broadcast and cable on Monday.
ABC and ESPN each carried games with Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings averaging 13,066,000 viewers and 3.11 in the demo on broadcast, and the Falcons vs. Raiders attracting 4,078,000 viewers and 1.08 in the demo on ESPN. The NFL Network broadcast added 87,000 viewers and 0.02.
ESPN PR released stats including an average of 17.8 million viewers throughout the three-hour overlap and peaking at 19.4 million viewers.
The first hour of Raw had 1,554,000 viewers and 0.47 in the 18-49 demographic (0.64 with males and 0.30 with females). The second hour dropped to 1,512,000 viewers but increased to 0.48 in the demo (0.67 with males and 0.29 with females).
In Canada, the show averaged 237,600 viewers and 106,500 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360. The viewership increased by 5% while the demo dropped by 8% from last week. Raw ranked fifth among sports on Monday behind both NFL games and a pair of NHL games.
