The Champion is Mine

We see the Death Riders entering the building as Renee Paquette is in the back with Jay White & Orange Cassidy and asks them if they are focused on the Death Riders or more on each other. White says his focus is on the AEW World Championship, but knows he has first to make it to Worlds End and relies on Cassidy & Adam Page since he doesn’t have the Bang Bang Gang by his side. He said Page always lets people down, as Page walks in and says Jon Moxley is his tonight.

We cut to Darby Allin who tells Will Ospreay that it’s showtime, as Ospreay says he’s grateful for Darby saving his neck last week but tonight it’s time for warfare. We also see MJF making his way into the building.

AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone’ (c) vs. Anna Jay

They show highlights of Mercedes Mone’ defeating Hazuki at NJPW Strong Style Evolved from this past week Sunday, as well as the challenge she received from Mina Shirakawa after the match. Mercedes starts the match by slapping Anna Jay, before running away from Anna for a little. Anna comes back with a slap of her own before cornering Mercedes with punches. Mercedes comes back with the Three Amigos before heading to the top rope but misses the Frog Splash. Jay comes back with a neckbreaker for a two-count before putting Mercedes on the top rope but gets caught in a chokehold. Mercedes continues, hitting a Meteora for two, as we head to our first picture-in-picture of the night.

We return with them going back and forth as Anna hits a Gory Bomb, but Mercedes grabs the bottom rope at the last second to break up the count. Anna goes right to the Queenslayer, but Mercedes bites her way out of it. Mercedes then puts on the Statement Maker, but Anna keeps escaping before backing Mercedes into the corner and rolling her up for two. Mercedes comes back with a Sunset Bomb to the corner, a double knee strike, and hits the Mone’ Maker to get the pin and the win.

Winner: Mercedes Mone’ by pinfall at 10:32, to retain

Kris Statlander is shown in the back watching Mercedes after her win.

FTR Not Coming Alone

We see FTR at one of their homes who said they didn’t have a problem with Death Riders, and they stopped them from poisoning a man, which gets them taken and left in the cold. Dax Harwood says they build their whole lives on wrestling and said what else is there to do as Dr. Sampson says he hasn’t cleared them for the rest of the year. They tell the Death Riders to not sleep as they will show up at their door and they will be at Fight for the Fallen and will be cleared to fight them, and they aren’t coming alone.

“Am I Kicking Your Ass, Yet?”

MJF heads to the ring and says he doesn’t care about the opinion of a couple of disgusting from DC, and if he did care about them he would have signed up to be a part of their ‘wack ass Washington Wizards’ which gets the crowd to chant ‘Wizards Suck’. MJF goes on to talk about Hannukah and says that Santa isn’t real, which gets a ‘Santa’ chant. We start hearing some sad music, as MJF goes into a sad speech about helping someone, as we see a doctored photo of a very yellow and skinny Adam Cole on the screen. MJF puts up a QR code that he says is to help the foundation put Cole out of his misery (the code is to order Worlds End).

We cut to the real Cole on the screen who gives MJF the heads up about having a meeting with Tony Khan and says if MJF wants the Dynamite Diamond Ring he has to earn it, as he brings in Mike Bennett & Matt Taven who he said he will have them by his side at Worlds End. He asks if ‘He’s kicking his ass yet’, as we see the even more real Adam Cole behind MJF in the ring who attacks MJF, but when he goes for the Panama Sunrise, MJF escapes.

Dish Best Served Cold

We see Jamie Hayter in the back who says she says Julia Hart for exactly who she is; a coward. She says Hart used her tricks to attack her from behind, and that’s a sneaky, classless move but the message is sent. Her message to Hart is to serve her a dish best served cold at Fight for the Fallen.

We see a promo that Kenny Omega is coming back soon to AEW ‘very, very soon.’

The Patriarchy (Christian Cage & Nick Wayne) (w/ Kip Sabian & Mother Wayne) vs. Hook & Katsuyori Shibata

Hook comes out with his left arm in a cast still, as he starts the match with Nick Wayne. Katsuyori Shibata & Christian Cage quickly tag in, but as Shibata goes for the pin attempt, Christian goes and tags right out. Hook sends Wayne to the outside before he and Shibata start ping-ponging Christian back before Hook back body drops Christian onto Wayne on the outside. As they re-enter, hook puts on the Redrum, but with the help of Christian, it gets broken up, with Christian snapping Hook’s arm onto the ropes as we head to picture-in-picture.

When we go at it, Shibata is punishing Wayne in the corner, hitting a Front Chancery for a two-count, before putting on the Juji Gatame. Christian gets involved and trips up Shibata, as Wayne gets a close two-count. Kip Sabian goes after Hook on the outside but gets taken out before Hook takes out Christian with a suplex. In the ring, Wayne goes for the Wayne’s World but gets trapped in a sleeper. Sabian & Mother Wayne both get on the apron, as Christian gauges Shibata’s eyes and hits the Killswitch before putting Wayne on him for the cover and the win.

Winners: The Patriarchy (Christian Cage & Nick Wayne) by pinfall at 11:45

The King of New York

We get a ‘King of New York’ video with Chris Jericho going around New York City with his ROH World Championship hyping up his Final Battle match with Matt Cardona this Friday.

We get another Bandido video, this one showing off highlights of his matches.

“Does Failure Run in the Family?”

We go to Mariah May in the back who wonders why Thunder Rosa wanted to become a wrestler since she was already a social worker. She continues that she spent her entire career looking out for herself and it worked out pretty well, and she has eclipsed the entire women’s division just by being her, and if was here four years ago, Rosa wouldn’t even have been signed. She brings up the Tijuana Street Fight at Worlds End, telling Rosa to bring her father, and asks if being a failure runs in the family.

“Nobody Likes a Kiss Ass”

Tony Schiavone brings Ricochet to the ring and says there’s been a change in his attitude since we last saw him in the ring. Before Ricochet can say much, he gets interrupted by the music of The Hurt Syndicate as Bobby Lashley, MVP & Shelton Benjamin make their way out. Ricochet says he’s glad they came out there and asks them if they saw how he beat both Komander & Brody King and had six points in the Continental Classic. Ricochet brings up Will Ospreay seeing a different side of Ricochet this Saturday. MVP asks for the business card he handed him, as Lashley holds Ricochet back MVP rips up the card and says ‘Nobody likes a kiss ass’ and kicks him out of the ring as Benjamin has his match next.

Continental Classic Blue League Match: Shelton Benjamin [3] vs. The Beast Mortos [0]

Bobby Lashley heads to the back, as MVP Goes to join the commentary table. They start the match by running the ropes before The Beast Mortos puts on a single-leg crab on Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin puts Mortos on the ropes and knees him off to the outside as we head to picture-in-picture.

When we return, MVP mentions how Benjamin recently had a minor procedure on his knee and is at “90 percent”, as Matt Menard asks if he’s making excuses for him, which MVP does not appreciate at all. Mortos hits a dive off the top but only gets a two. Mortos stays on top with strikes but gets stopped with a big thrust kick that pops the crowd. Benjamin follows with three German Suplexes, followed by a knee strike to Mortos in the corner and the Hurt Fall to get the pin and the win.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin by pinfall at 8:47, to get 3 points in the Continental Classic [6]

Bobby Lashley & MVP enter the ring, as Lashley & Benjamin keep attacking Mortos in the corner. Tony Schiavone mentions Rush & Dralistico not being available to help him. MVP tells Daniel Garcia this is what he has to look forward to on Saturday, as Garcia makes his way out. Garcia says he’s stupid and knows what will happen if he heads to the ring as it’s 3 on 1, but he doesn’t care and starts heading down anyway before Mark Briscoe’s music hits and he joins him and they start attacking Benjamin & Lashley, but MVP helps with his cane as they take them both down.

The Real Trevor

Renee is in the back with Ricochet and asks what happened with The Hurt Syndicate. Ricochet says he’s not going to worry about that but instead the Continental Classic, and this Saturday he is stepping in the ring with Will Ospreay. He didn’t come to AEW to shut the world up and beat Ospreay and have his eyes on the next match. As he turns around, he bumps into Swerve Strickland & Prince Nana, and Swerve says it is only a matter of time until the ‘real Trevor’ shows up. He thought Ricochet might have changed, but he’s still the same old Trevor, a follower. Ricochet says he knows the real Swerve, and he didn’t win the Continental Classic last year and it’s going to eat him up when he wins this year.

Portrait of a Rock Star

We go to a sit down with RJ City & Toni Storm and explain where she’s been, but Storm talks about grinding up the indies and now she’s here in AEW. RJ is confused and talks ask about her history in AEW, as she says she’s seen every match from the start and say it’s a bit early to be thinking of winning the AEW Women’s World Title. She calls Saraya, Mercedes Mone’ & Mariah May; legends, icons, and the best in the business today. RJ brings up the Timeless name, but Storm says it’s Toni Time instead.

Continental Classic Gold League Match: Will Ospreay [6] vs. Darby Allin [3]

This is the first time these two have shared a ring, as the crowd chants ‘Holy shit’. They start the match testing each other by running the ropes and ducking and dodging each other before they have a standstill. They quickly take it to the outside as Darby Allin hits a cannonball, then sends Will Ospreay back into the ring and tries a Coffin Drop but misses Ospreay and bounces off the edge of the apron as we head to picture-in-picture.

We come back, as they are battling in the middle of the ring, with Darby hitting a stunner, but they are both laid out. They get right back into it fast and furious, with Ospreay hitting a Hidden Blade and following with a Stormbreaker attempt, but Darby reverses and hits a Code Red for two, as the crowd is very rowdy. More back and forth with multiple pin attempts, including a Coffin Drop by Darby, for two. They head to the top rope, but Ospreay kicks him off and hits the Styles Clash from the apron onto the floor, but hurts himself in the process as he grabs his right knee. Darby makes it right before the 10 count, but Ospreay meets him with the Os Cutter for two. Darby counters the Stormbreaker again and hits the Scorpion Death Drop, goes to the top and hits a Coffin Drop to Ospreay’s back, goes back again, and hits one more Coffin Drop to get the pin and the win.

Winner: Darby Allin by pinfall at 14:38, to get 3 points in the Continental Classic [6]

As soon as the music hits, the Death Riders music hits as they come out through the crowd for the main event, including Darby’s opponent for Christmas Collision in Claudio Castagnoli staring him down.

Death Riders (Jon Moxley, PAC & Wheeler Yuta) (w/ Claudio Castagnoli & Marina Shafir) vs. Jay White, Orange Cassidy & Adam Page

Adam Page & Wheeler Yuta start the match, but as Page yells at Yuta to tag in Jon Moxley & he doesn’t, Page tags out to Orange Cassidy to start instead. They quickly take it to the outside as Orange dives onto Yuta & PAC, just to be stopped by Moxley with a jab to the throat. Moxley enters and tries a piledriver, but Orange reverses with a backbody drop and tags out to Page, as Jay White backs away. Page attacks all the Death Riders before getting into Marina Shafir’s face, but Yuta attacks him from behind. Page sends Yuta to his corner and yells at Moxley to tag himself in, but White tags himself in which gets Page furious so he leaves to the back instead. Moxley attacks White from behind as Claudio Castagnoli on the outside attacks Orange as we go to picture-in-picture.

We return as White stops Moxley with a Cutthroat Suplex and DDT, before backing into Orange who tags himself in and hits a diving DDT from the top rope. Orange starts kicking away at Moxley and hits another DDT. Yuta gets involved and hits him with a Stunner before White runs in as well before PAC stops him with a boot in the corner. Moxley & Orange go at it before Moxley takes him out with a cutter, just for Page to reappear and go after Moxley, attempting a Buckshot Lariat, but Orange gets to Moxley first with an Orange Punch which gets Page mad. Page goes for the Buckshot Lariat and might have been wanting to hit Orange with it, but gets Yuta instead. White hits PAC with the Blade Runner, but as he and Page start arguing with each other, Moxley rolls up Orange to get the pin and the win.

Winners: Death Riders (Jon Moxley, PAC & Wheeler Yuta) by pinfall at 11:59

Orange, Page & White keep shoving each other after the match just to get surrounded by the Death Riders, as Moxley has a chair, but they get attacked first before Moxley & Marina escape through the crowd as the other six men start brawling on the outside.
