She is hoping to come back in May.

There was a press conference that Dream Star Fighting Marigold held and there was an appearance from the current and first-ever GHC Women’s Champion, Kouki Amarei.

She revealed that she is going to be out of action due a torn ACL in her left knee. Marigold posted on X that she is aiming to return to in-ring action in May.

Amarei had a title defense at Marigold ‘First Dream’ on January 3rd and it was during that match that she suffered the injury. After speaking with her doctor, it was decided to undergo surgery on January 16th and then head into P.R.P. (platelet-rich plasma) therapy to speed up the recovery process.

John Hopkins Medicine has the following posted about platelet-rich plasma:

After creating platelet-rich plasma from a patient’s blood sample, that solution is injected into the target area, such as an injured knee or a tendon. In some cases, the clinician may use ultrasound to guide the injection. The idea is to increase the concentration of specific bioproteins or hormones, called growth factors, in a specific area to accelerate the healing process.

The mechanism behind PRP injections is not completely understood. Studies show that the increased concentration of growth factors in platelet-rich plasma may stimulate or speed up the healing process, shortening healing time for injuries, decreasing pain and even encouraging hair growth.

As for the GHC Women’s Title, she does not plan to relinquish it, but will if she is ordered to.
