Taking to the podium after SmackDown was Dwayne Johnson.

New Orleans, Louisiana hosted Friday Night SmackDown and appearing on the show was Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. He showed up to announce that New Orleans will be the home of WrestleMania 42 in 2026.

In addition to that, he asked Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to come to the ring and Johnson expressed that he wants Rhodes to be ‘his champion.’ He told Rhodes that he wants his soul and he’ll get Rhodes’ response at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

There was a press conference after the show and Johnson fielded questions from media members. He spoke about the range he feels ‘The Final Boss’ character has and how he can be a white whale of sorts. Johnson said the storyline with Rhodes does not have to culminate in a match and feels that’s a special place to be.

Elsewhere during the presser, Johnson said WWE planned to announce the WrestleMania 42 location during Super LIX which took place in New Orleans at the Caesars Superdome. There were hiccups that occurred and that’s why that did not come to fruition.
