Jacobs and Road Dogg crossed paths in IMPACT as well.
The newest episode of The Shining Wizards podcast featured an interview with former WWE, IMPACT/TNA Wrestling and AEW employee Jimmy Jacobs.
As Jacobs was speaking about his experiences working behind the scenes at those aforementioned promotions, he mentioned that when he was trying to get the gig at WWE, Brian ‘Road Dogg’ James was someone who advocated for him. When James and his brother Scott Armstrong helped behind the scenes at IMPACT while Jacobs was there, Jacobs hoped that the promotion would acquire their services.
Road Dogg’s great. He went to bat for me when I was trying to get a job at WWE. I think he’s great. He’s great. He’s very creative. When I was working for IMPACT, him and his brother Scott (Armstrong) came in for one show and I was hoping that we would acquire them but, I think, at least Brian, at least went back to WWE at that point. He’s a great asset to have on the team.
In February, it was reported by PWInsider that Road Dogg was appointed as co-lead writer of Friday Night SmackDown.
