TNA iMPACT notes: Eddie Edwards secures advantage for his team, Joe Hendry defends World Title twice, Tessa pins Masha

The opening match of the program saw Eddie Edwards take on Leon Slater to determine which of their teams in the 10-man Cage match at TNA Sacrifice would have the advantage. Edwards picked up the win over Slater to earn the advantage. 

It was promoted that Joe Hendry would be defending his TNA World Championship against a surprise opponent. As Santino Marella was about to introduce the opponent, Ryan Nemeth came out and said he’s been given Nic Nemeth’s contractually obligated rematch for the title. He entered the ring to challenge Hendry and the champion bested Nemeth in under a minute. Marella then introduced Hendry’s real opponent and out came Hammerstone. Hendry went on to retain over him as well. Hammerstone revealed that his TNA contract expired in February which is when the match with Hendry was taped. Post-match, Hendry was jumped by The Colóns (Eddie Colón & Orlando Colón) and The System (Moose, J.D.C, Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards). Making the save to even the numbers game was Leon Slater, Elijah and TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy).

There was a tag match that saw Cora Jade and Tessa Blanchard take on Yei Ling Lee and Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich. Jade hit Slamovich with the belt and Blanchard followed up to get a pinfall victory over Slamovich. 

Ortiz was shown multiple times in a Mike Santana video package that went along with Santana’s segment with Mustafa Ali to hype their bout at Sacrifice.
