** Lynell Jinks, creative director of Visual Concepts spoke to GameSpot about how it felt to create a WWE video game without the involvement of Yuke’s:
“I think freeing is the first feeling that you get. When you realize that now that all the ideas that you had and wanted to pursue are now at your fingertips, that’s the first feeling you have, and the second one you have is the reality, where that sets in where you’re like, ‘Oh, now that it’s all ours, that means that we have to write tools and write systems, and actually understand how these things were really put together.’ Every system in the game, every piece of code, and every art asset had to go through our pipeline — had to go through us, and it was our responsibility to make sure that we understood everything that we’re putting in the game from front to back, right? And this is 20 years of just Yuke’s code, Yuke’s art, Yuke’s pipelines that we had to take apart and understand. Not only understand, but make it ours and try to make it better at the same time, or make it as good as it was.”

** Two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T took to his ‘Hall Of Fame’ podcast and shared his thoughts about Eric Bischoff being relieved of his duties as Executive Director of SmackDown and Bruce Prichard stepping in to fill that role. Booker also gave his take on what he believes it takes to fill that role:
“That job, it definitely takes a certain type of individual. It takes a guy that literally sleeps with one eye open and one eye closed. It takes a guy that literally when he wakes up in the morning, before he even makes his cup of coffee, he gets his notepad first and then starts making the coffee. It takes that type of focus. It takes that type of individual drive to push yourself to say, ‘This is what I’m thinking about, and this is what I’m thinking about all the time.’ It takes that type of individual and the person that was presented the job was Bruce Prichard, and Bruce Prichard is that type of guy that no matter what… it could be a blizzard outside, tornado brewing. He’s gonna be writing his notes, thinking about what these guys are gonna be doing on SmackDown weekly. I know that, and just because I know what kind of person Bruce Prichard is, he’s definitely driven towards this business. This is his life. This is what he does.”

** Channel Guide Magazine interviewed Natalya about a variety of topics including how Ronda Rousey helped Natalya realize that she was “running away” from her father’s passing:
“It was a hard season for me to watch back,” Natalya said about Total Divas. “I really didn’t like watching myself back after my dad died because I didn’t realize how much I was actually going through. I had to step back and watch it. I was bawling my eyes out watching last week’s episode at home. I realized I wasn’t okay. I realized I was struggling. We started filming the show after my dad died. My dad and I were very close. My parents are like my best friends. When I watched the scene back where Ronda was trying to take my mind off things, I didn’t think about what she was trying to do. I thought we were being goofy and silly and going on the farm and scooping goat poop. I watched it back thinking Ronda’s mom did what I did when her dad died. Ronda opens up about her dad committing suicide. You don’t ever hear about her opening up about that. You did on the show because it was relatable to me and what I was going through. She lost her dad at a very young age to something tragic and traumatic to her. She said to me that I reminded her of her mom because she didn’t know how to cope. Ronda’s mom just kept working and working, trying to almost run from it. I realized Ronda was right and I was running from my dad’s death. I’m literally watching this having an epiphany on my couch. I didn’t want to cope with my dad’s passing so I was literally working myself into the ground, so I didn’t have to think about it. I was not okay. I was absolutely not okay, and Ronda pointed it out to me. I want people to watch that and have it resonate with them. Maybe they went through it too and maybe they lost their grandma, parents or brother or sister or best friend. Everybody has gone through something hard in their lives and can relate to me and Ronda as she showed this human side.”
Natalya also spoke about how Lacey Evans has grown on her and talked about Paul Heyman being motivational when it came to Natalya and Lacey’s on-screen feud:
“I never thought I’d say this, but Lacey really grew on me a lot. I was talking to one of my old coaches Dr. Tom Prichard, and he asked me about that Last Woman Standing match. I told him that I really liked working with her. I enjoyed our matches. We had a series of matches, and Paul Heyman saw one of them. It was supposed to be a one-off with the fun little match we had. Paul was so motivating and inspiring when he told us, ‘I think we can make this an incredible story.’ That’s why I love working with Paul because he has such a good pulse on the industry. All these incredible matches and moments kept happening for me and Lacey. We got a chance to show what we can do. I walk into work to find out about the Last Woman Standing match. Lacey, she really pushed me to my limit. I almost fell off the stage trying to powerbomb her. I did it. When I beat her in that match, I felt like it was one of my favorite matches that I’ve had in years. I feel like I literally slayed the dragon. I felt like a UFC fighter scaling the cage and getting excited like Conor McGregor. I think why it was so special to me because when Lacey came up, there was much learning to do. With my role in WWE, I wear so many different hats. One of my most special attributes as being part of our women’s division is the fact I was born and raised around wrestling. I’m part of an incredible wrestling family, but I’ve been paying my dues since I was a teenager. I have the experience to help other girls get the experience. So, one day someone like a Lacey Evans can do the same to another girl coming up one day. I look at my match with Charlotte Flair, it was the same thing. She was nervous and new. She wasn’t sure of herself. When you can give someone a moment like that and do what Charlotte and I did, look where Charlotte is now. At the end of the day, we are all paying it forward. We want the women to have the same equality as men. I want to see women main event WrestleMania for many years to come. I want to see every woman on our roster included. I want to see every single woman from Sarah Logan and Lacey Evans to Liv Morgan and Dana Brooke. I want them all to be featured and highlighted. We all need to work so we can do that.”

** Aleister Black chatted with SunSport and talked about going from NXT Champion to competing at WrestleMania to now being a part of the RAW roster under the guidance of Paul Heyman:
“It’s good old fashion hard work. Nothing comes easy, especially in this business. I’ve been involved in professional wrestling since 2000 when I started training and there hasn’t been one day that I haven’t put everything into it. Its led me to so many great things, obviously it’s leading me into one of the most important stages of my career, being on RAW, under the guidance of Paul Heyman. It’s just hard work and any[one] who tells you different is either not understanding the process of how it works and will never get there, or is a liar.”

Make some money, leave OK. It’s good.’ If I had the opportunity, I’d do it.”
Savio then began talking about Primo and Epico Colon. The last time that Primo and Epico wrestled on WWE TV was in August of 2018. Their last documented match for WWE was a dark match this past February following an episode of SmackDown Live:
“His brother and Primo, I believe they finished. I don’t know if they finished yet. They probably don’t say it or they’re gonna do it this year coming up… next year because they’re working Puerto Rico.”

** Jake Hager joined Busted Open Radio with David LaGreca and Bully Ray. During his appearance on the show, Hager stated that once he departed from WWE, there was a three-year plan in place to jump into MMA and cross back over to pro wrestling:
“Man thank you for bringing that up. I really am [in a better place]. I’m very thankful for the run I had there but towards the end there, when you [Bully Ray] were there, yeah, I was very unhappy. I didn’t know how to make the changes, how to use my hard work to make the changes that I needed to do to get to where I wanted, and after so long in that, you beat a dog so many times, that dog is gonna think that he’s not worth anything and I feel so refreshed being out of there, in the situation we are now. I mean honestly, this was the plan for three years since we left the company — to go into pro fighting and make a name for ourselves and cross over and then, we kinda felt like the explosion of pro wrestling was gonna happen and it was the perfect storm to sign with AEW and it really is something special. When you’re on the road for 200, 250 days a year, you’re not with your family, you’re not with a lot of people a lot, you’re very lonely at times and I felt like that, and now that I’ve been out, I take my kids to school every single day. I mean really, my family is my strength and I realized that and I’m leaning on it.”
Hager was asked about AEW World Champion Chris Jericho shutting down the “We The People” chant on AEW: Dynamite and Hager said he had no problem with it and thanked Jericho for shutting the chant down:
“I’m not pissed off at all. Chris, thank you. No one else in the world wants to thank you Chris, I will thank you. Le Champion, thank you. It’s one of those moments where it really shows why Chris Jericho is on the Mount Rushmore of pro wrestling. His timing, his ability in the ring and just his experience is just so awesome and he can just take — he didn’t even really say anything special. The way he said it though was just perfect, and it was a great moment and I think it was a great start for us. I’m not upset at all. It just had to be done.”
** On the most recent edition of Sean “X-Pac” Waltman’s ‘X-Pac 12360’ podcast, Waltman talked about the criticism Marko Stunt received after his appearance on AEW: Dynamite and opened up about his own experiences as a smaller in-ring performer:
“The way I looked and how I was, you talk about Marko Stunt, oh f*** people laughed at me. The first time I got in the ring, I wrestled Ricky Rice, he’s built very well, I mean not huge but fn built well. And I was totally pale, skinny af, and so everyone laughed, they were all laughing at me as I come to the ring. So it took about a minute and then they were on their feet because I German-suplexed them, wrestled them, and then I dove out of the ring. No one had ever seen that kind of shit. So it didn’t take long, they took to me really quick, it was something different, everyone else were these big jacked up guys, and to be honest with you, a lot of them had this sense of entitlement. That they were from Minnesota and they were jacked up on the gas, and that they were gonna get a phone call.”
** Kenny Omega and Joey Janela are set to clash on the 10/23/19 edition of AEW: Dynamite along with Britt Baker versus Jamie Hayter. ** Thunder Rosa chatted with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald ahead of her MMA debut for Combates America on November 8th. Here are a few highlights from the interview:
Thunder Rosa on her plan to do both MMA and wrestling:
“Yes that is my plan to be doing both. I’m really blessed right now that Combates [America] is letting me do both, and I’m now with the National Wrestling Alliance coming up, I’m focusing on mainly working with National Wrestling Alliance, so at the same time I can focus on my MMA career.”
Why she decided to use the ‘Thunder Rosa’ name in MMA:
“I definitely wanted to keep Thunder Rosa with me, because just Melissa Cervantes, it’s me. Thunder Rosa is an extension of me and when Thunder Rosa was created, I used to work at a rehab facility as a supervisor for teenagers that have dual diagnosis. They had alcohol and drug addictions… you name it. On top of that, they had mental health problems. A lot of them, I was that ray of hope in their life, and when I started training for professional wrestling, they saw my transformation, because they stay there for quite a while, so when I stopped working there, I told them I was gonna become a professional wrestler. Some of them were really happy. Some of them went back home and some of them committed suicide or they got killed by the police or they just got caught in life and… so, for me, using Thunder Rosa is remembering those who I was a ray of light [for], that I was the hope to do something that people told them that they couldn’t do, otherwise.”
Working with Tessa Blanchard in WOW:
“Well the experience working in that match, I think it was great because I needed a match in-which I could showcase my skills and also be able to make sure my opponent looked the best that she could look. I think that’s the reason why you see creative matches, because both people in the ring are great dance partners. I learned so much and people still talk about that match and its been like a month, month-and-a-half since it aired, and I remember one of the AXS executives came and he said that-that was probably one of the best matches that WOW has seen in the history of the show. So that meant a lot, and working with Tessa Blanchard is so easy. With the last couple of years, she’s gained so many skills and gotten so good at what she does and she has a bright future ahead of her.”
** Natalya was a recent guest on The Bellas Podcast.
** D-Von Dudley will be appearing for the ‘Empire State Wrestling’ promotion on November 28th.
** Kia “Awesome Kong” Stevens joined Collider Live! and was asked about the differences between All Elite Wrestling and WWE in regard to the companies taking care of their wrestlers’ health:
“Well, from my time in WWE, what I understood was: If you got hurt in the ring, then that is something they would take care of. However, your everyday, just regular needs, exams, checkups, whatever. If you have a cold, flu, whatever — that was something that you had to be responsible for and as an individual, it’s kinda hard to acquire, and expensive to acquire such medical care with the profession that we’re in. So, when you have a company like this behind you that’s providing that, that really makes it a lot easier on the pocketbook and just to have that support of, ‘Hey, these people don’t just see me as this product in a box. They see me as an actual person’. We had a meeting about concussions actually and their approach to it… it was so full of humanity, and really putting yourself first and your health first which for old school people is hard to comprehend, because we’re the kind of people who will literally break our neck — I’ve known people that have broken their neck in the ring and was trying to keep going. Like, ‘We have some spots to go. My broken neck? Tape it up, let’s finish it out’. So, to have that attitude and care and putting their talent before the bottom line is new for us and surprising but appreciated.”
Stevens also shared that there have been conversations about GLOW cast members showing up on AEW: Dynamite but right now there are concrete plans that the company has in place:
“Well I mean, there have been discussions about the possibilities of what that would look like and what we would do. I think right — as of right now, there’s a plan and once those plans are realized, we can get a little loosey-goosey and see what else we can cater to next.”
** Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet welcomed Jungle Boy and Kia “Awesome Kong” Stevens in-studio for an exclusive interview. Jungle Boy spoke about the criticism that Marko Stunt received following he and Marko’s AEW TNT debut:
“Yeah, its kinda been wild. Its been a lot bigger than I expected it to be. That whole day was kind of crazy stressful — that is not how I would’ve imagined my TV debut to go. But I was super happy, personally, with the match. Most of the feedback I guess, about Marko, it’s kinda just the same stuff always. I think that was his first time being introduced to a lot of people — being on a platform that big — it was for all of us but, with him, the thing is, it’s just… you’re kind of open to it or you’re not. I think Marko being so small, I think it maybe makes a lot of people feel not great about themselves, and I say that because I think there’s this attitude that bigger is better, and I think for him to be his size, which in a way, will hold him back a lot, but he’s out there doing what so many people have dreamed of doing and they’ve never been able to do it. I think that kind of just adds a little bit of insult to injury in their minds I guess, and I get it, but at the same — it’s not anything he has control over. I’m super proud of him, and I think if you can get past that, I think everybody should be super proud of him because not only is he doing something for anybody, it’s a huge thing, it’s a scary thing. He’s doing it his way, with what he’s always had to deal with and I think he’s killing it.”

** Keith Lee was interviewed by Sports Illustrated ahead of his NXT North American Championship match against Roderick Strong and Dominik Dijakovic on NXT TV. Lee was asked about his name being brought into the Twitter back and forth between Kenny Omega and Dijakovic and here’s how Lee reacted to seeing his name in the mix:
“I am a person that believes I am above things of that nature. The moment I saw my name tagged in something that did not make sense for me to be tagged in, I just ignored it. I didn’t pay any real attention to it. That’s the honest truth. All that noise is distracting from the potential success one could have. It takes away from what could be, as opposed to being able to prove what you’re looking to prove. Otherwise, you’re spending your energy on the internet. There are things I could be doing to be productive and further my own goals and ambitions. So that’s what I try to do.”

** Pro Wrestling Sheet had the opportunity to chat with Keith Lee and asked him what it would it mean to him to become NXT North American Champion:
“Hmmm, championships mean a lot of things and they’re all generally quite wonderful things. But for me, I’ve always been different when it comes to championships. It’s not so much winning the championship – it’s always a joyful experience – but the greatest thing that I love about becoming a champion is the amount of prestige that I offer a championship. The way that I lift the belt up. The way that I carry it. The way I defend it. Everything I do encompasses a champion, and so, that being the scenario, I would just love to see how important that championship becomes when it’s across my shoulder or around my waist … if it fits me.”
