After announcing the pending closure of his wrestling academy this past summer, Lance Storm (Lance Evers) has revealed that his next role will be serving as a producer for WWE.

Storm made the announcement on Saturday:

Storm was a full-time wrestler from 1990 until retiring in 2004 but has done numerous matches from that point until April 2016.

After wrestling for promotions including FMW, WAR, CWA and Smokey Mountain Wrestling, Storm received his biggest U.S. stage when joining Extreme Championship Wrestling and wrestled with the group until May 2000. From there, he moved to WCW and remained with the company until it was purchased by the World Wrestling Federation in March 2001. Storm was one of the WCW performers brought in by WWF and featured in the ill-fated invasion storyline and then absorbed into the roster at the storyline’s conclusion. The WWF tenure included four reigns as a tag champion and also won the Intercontinental title in July 2001 and dropped it to Edge at SummerSlam the following the month.

He retired in 2004 and took a position with the WWF’s then-developmental group, Ohio Valley Wrestling, where he had less travel and would commute from Calgary. It was in OVW he began working with many of the company’s next generation of performers in his role as head trainer.

Storm launched his own school, the Storm Wrestling Academy, in September 2005 and became one of the most respected trainers worldwide with students attending his sessions from all points of the globe. The alumni of the academy include Tenille Dashwood, Taya Valkyrie, Tyler Breeze, Peyton Royce, Brian Pillman Jr., Rachael Ellering, Oney Lorcan, Dominick Gutierrez, and others.

Earlier this year, Storm had been working several tapings for Impact Wrestling as an agent and then announced in August he would be shutting down the academy after his final session this year.

It is not known what brand Storm will be working with when he returns to WWE.
