Daniel Bryan Challenging Bray Wyatt For WWE Universal Championship At Royal Rumble

Daniel Bryan is challenging 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt for the WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble on January 26th.

On January 26th, WWE’s 33rd annual Royal Rumble event will emanate from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas and at the event, Daniel Bryan will challenge ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship. Bryan earned that opportunity by defeating The Miz and Baron Corbin in a Triple-Threat match on the 12/27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Baron Corbin was taken out the match by Roman Reigns and it came down to Miz and Bryan. The closing sequences of the match saw Bryan and Miz trading submission holds with the final hold being a LeBell Lock from Bryan to secure the victory.

At the 2019 Survivor Series pay-per-view, after defeating The Miz, Bray Wyatt was given a running knee from Daniel Bryan who reappeared with his new look and at the Royal Rumble, Bryan will have the opportunity to win the sixth world title of his WWE career. Currently slated for the January 26th event is the Universal Title match and the men’s and women’s 30-person Rumble matches.

The night prior to the Royal Rumble, the NXT versus NXT U.K. ‘Worlds Collide’ event will stream live on the WWE Network and headlining that show is Undisputed ERA (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) versus Imperium (WALTER, Marcel Barthel, Fabian Aichner & Alexander Wolfe).
