New Japan Pro Wrestling has released the cards for their next series of shows, which include the New Japan Road events along with Tiger Hattori and Manabu Nakanishi’s retirement cards in February.
Their next show is Wednesday, February 19th at Korakuen Hall with Tiger Hattori’s retirement ceremony. Hattori will be the referee for the last two matches of the show, including the main event with Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi & Sanada taking on Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii & Hirooki Goto.
The key matches on the tour include Shingo Takagi’s first defense of the NEVER Openweight championship when he takes on Tomohiro Ishii in the main event of New Japan Road on February 20th at Korakuen Hall. The same card will include Roppongi 3K defending the IWGP junior heavyweight tag titles against the ‘Mega Coaches’ of Ryusuke Taguchi & Rocky Romero, which was set up through a challenge made by Taguchi at New Beginning in Osaka on Sunday.
On February 21st at Korakuen Hall, there will be two title matches on New Japan Road, as well. In the main event, the Guerrillas of Destiny will defend the IWGP tag titles against Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kota Ibushi. Initially, Tanahashi & Ibushi challenged Juice Robinson & David Finlay prior to FinJuice losing the titles to G.O.D. last week in Atlanta. On Sunday’s show in Osaka, Tanahashi pinned Tanga Loa in an eight-man tag to cement their status as the next challengers. Shingo Takagi, EVIL & Bushi will defend the NEVER Six-Man tag titles against Toru Yano, Colt Cabana & Ryusuke Taguchi on that show.
Manabu Nakanishi’s retirement ceremony will headline the February 22nd card at Korakuen Hall immediately after his farewell match. In the main event, Nakanishi teams with Yuji Nagata, Satoshi Kojima & Hiroyoshi Tenzan against Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi & Hirooki Goto.
