This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown marked the show’s lowest viewership since its launch on Fox last October based on its overnight numbers.
The overnight figure lists the show at 2,192,000 viewers, which is down 5% from last week’s final viewership number. The final number for this week’s show will be released on Tuesday to reflect the entire country.
The previous low for SmackDown on Fox occurred on November 15th with 2,309,000 viewers. There was also an episode of SmackDown that aired on FS1 on October 25th that averaged 888,000 viewers.
The breakdown saw 2,239,000 watching the first hour and dropping to 2,145,000 in the second hour. The show was headlined by Big E. winning the SmackDown tag titles for the New Day against The Miz and Jey Uso in a triple-threat match.
SmackDown did a 0.6 in the 18-49 demographic, which was beneath all of CBS’ Friday night programming as well as Magnum P.I. on CBS. SmackDown equaled The Blacklist as they were tied for fifth on the night among network programming in the key demo.
SmackDown also generated a 0.4 with 18-34 equaling Magnum P.I. for the top spot on Friday night among the networks.
The empty arena shows for WWE has seen audiences dwindle with this past Monday’s episode of Raw hitting its lowest mark of the year with 1,913,000 viewers. In modern history, only two episodes of Raw have fallen underneath this week’s viewership figure.
