Five-way IMPACT World Championship match made official for Slammiversary

The IMPACT World Champion Tessa Blanchard will be back in action at Slammiversary where she'll defend her title against Michael Elgin, Ace Austin, Eddie Edwards and Trey in a five-way match.

During the 6/9/20 episode of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS, IMPACT Co-Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore confirmed the main event for this year’s Slammiversary event on July 18th. The IMPACT World Champion Tessa Blanchard will put her title on the line in a five-way match involving Michael Elgin, Ace Austin, Eddie Edwards and Trey of The Rascalz.

Tessa Blanchard has not been at any of the IMPACT tapings dating back to when the COVID-19 pandemic began. At IMPACT’s Rebellion pay-per-view, she was scheduled to defend the title in a Triple-Threat against Michael Elgin and Eddie Edwards. The event ultimately ended up being split into two nights and the two night event concluded with Moose crowning himself the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

Coming out of last week’s episode of IMPACT, there were teases that some of the recently released WWE talents could be arriving in IMPACT. To get a recap of this week’s episode, check out Davie Portman’s article about the show.
