Tomoaki Honma and Young Lion Yota Tsuji were scheduled to compete at New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s ‘Sengoku Lord’ event on 7/25. Per the NJPW1972.com website, both men were pulled from the event as a precautionary measure.
On July 17th, Honma and Tsuji filmed a television show with another cast member who tested positive for COVID-19 on July 24th. It’s noted in the article that both Honma and Tsuji are in good health and they did not come into close contact with said individual who tested positive for the virus.
Honma and Tsuji were going to be competing against each other in an eight-man tag match that was going to feature: Togi Makabe, Tomoaki Honma, Satoshi Kojima & Ryusuke Taguchi versus Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano, Yota Tsuji & Gabriel Kidd. The match was broken down into a six-man tag as a result of Honma and Tsuji being pulled.
NJPW is set to kick off their ‘Summer Struggle’ tour on July 26th that’ll conclude with the final event at Jingu Stadium on August 29th and more information about the forthcoming stadium show can be read at this link.
