WWE has acquired content from multiple independent promotions and those shows will begin airing on the WWE Network this Saturday. EVOLVE, PROGRESS Wrestling, Insane Championship Wrestling in Scotland and wXw in Germany shows are being added to the streaming service later this week. The new content includes two ‘Best of’ compilations that’ll feature the work of WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and NXT Champion Keith Lee in EVOLVE.
McIntyre’s catalog will include matches against Chris Hero (EVOLVE 31 in 2014), Ricochet (EVOLVE 37 in 2015), Roderick Strong (EVOLVE 44 in 2015), Johnny Gargano (EVOLVE 65 in 2016), two matches against Matt Riddle (EVOLVE 79 and 80 in 2017) and a tag match with Gargano against Hero and Tommy End.
Shows from wXw, PROGRESS and Insane Championship Wrestling that’ll be uploaded to the network includes ICW’s Shug’s Hoose Party 5: Night 2 from 2018, wXw Femme Fatales 2019, wXw AMBITION 11 from 2019, and PROGRESS Wrestling’s Chapter 92 from 2019.
In July, it was first reported by PWInsider that WWE acquired EVOLVE.
WWE has established working relationships with EVOLVE, PROGRESS, ICW and wXw. Former WWE talent Lio Rush was scheduled for wXw’s 16 Carat Gold tournament before being pulled. Also, current WWE talent Noam Dar is the reigning ICW World Heavyweight Champion.
