New Japan Pro-Wrestling is in the midst of presenting their 30th G1 Climax tournament and today it was announced by the company that Harold Meij is on his way out as President and CEO. Bushiroad’s Board of Directors came to the decision on 9/29 and the change was made. A new President/CEO has been appointed and the official change will begin on October 23rd. At a meeting of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s parent company Bushiroad’s board of directors today September 29, 2020, a change was announced in NJPW’s directorship. This change will take effect at the beginning of NJPW’s 50th year of trading on October 23rd.

Harold Meij published a new blog as the news broke. Meij mentioned that he hoped to be with New Japan to see the company completely come out of the Coronavirus pandemic. He also asked for readers to forgive him because of the timing of this announcement. Meij wished well to the soon-to-be new President Takami Obari and Meij is confident that New Japan will continue to expand.
