Ember Moon returns to NXT at TakeOver 31

After suffering an Achilles injury in 2019, Ember Moon has returned and she is now a part of the NXT brand.

The co-main event of NXT TakeOver 31 featured Io Shirai defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Candice LeRae. Shirai was able to best LeRae, even with the outside interference from Johnny Gargano. Following the match, it was revealed that the individual behind the vignettes that have been airing on NXT over the past several weeks is former NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon.

In the Fall of 2019, Ember Moon suffered a torn Achilles and throughout 2020, she provided updates on the status of her injury. Back in July, Moon stated that she was fighting a second surgery. While appearing on WWE Backstage in May of this year, Moon became emotional while speaking about her injury because she feared that the injury may have been career-ending.

Moon last wrestled on the September 23rd edition of Monday Night RAW and one year following her Achilles surgery, she has returned and is back in NXT where she last competed in 2018.
