WWE SmackDown notes: Chad Gable drops “Shorty G” name, Roman Reigns/Jey Uso

Chad Gable is done being "Shorty G", Roman Reigns and Jey Uso continue their feud and Sasha Banks makes Bayley sign the contract for HIAC.

Chad Gable was in action on SmackDown against Lars Sullivan. Sullivan made quick work of Gable and in a post-match interview with Kayla Braxton, Gable stated that he “quit”. Following up on that segment, Adam Pearce checked in on Gable in the trainer’s room and Gable stated that he’s done being “Shorty G” and is officially back under the name Chad Gable.

To close out SmackDown, Roman Reigns revealed the consequences for he and Jey Uso’s Universal Title ‘I Quit’ match at Hell In A Cell. Roman stated that if Jey loses, he’ll be doing his [Reigns’] bidding and Jey and Jimmy Uso along with their immediate family will be “removed from the family” as a whole. Jimmy Uso was present on SmackDown and assisted Jey in getting the physical advantage over Reigns.

Sasha Banks and Bayley’s Hell In A Cell match was made official several weeks ago but WWE continued on with the storyline that Bayley needed to sign the contract for the match. Banks forced Bayley to sign the contract on SmackDown.

Aalyah Mysterio came to the aid of Murphy after Murphy’s loss to Seth Rollins. Aalyah being near Seth caused Dominik Mysterio to come to the ring and he was ambushed by Rollins. Rey Mysterio then came to the ring and ran Rollins off.

Bianca Belair made her SmackDown in-ring debut and defeated Zelina Vega. Also, SmackDown will be back on FOX next week. Tonight’s show aired on FS1.
