The New York Daily News ran a story that a man was fatally stabbed on November 21st outside of 2 Bros. Pizza in New York. That individual has been identified as 39-year old Ronald Massaro, who is the brother of the late Ashley Massaro who passed away in May of 2019. Police were searching for the suspect who fled the scene after the incident.
Keith Hanlon, friend of Ronald told the publication that not even 12 hours before the attack, Ronald checked out of a rehab facility in Long Island. Hanlon added that Massaro called him after leaving the facility and sounded “uplifted and ready”. Hanlon said that Ronald “lost his voice” after Ashley’s passing and he never noticed Ronald with this tone before.
“He was ready to live life. Since his sister’s passing, I’d never noticed him have this voice,” Hanlon said. “Something hit him. I really believe he started to accept things and understand what life was about.”
Around 40 minutes before the incident took place, Ronald attempted to call Keith but Keith missed the call. Hanlon told NY Daily about the guilt he feels because he feels that had he picked up, it could’ve changed everything. There is an obituary up on Moloney Funeral Home’s website and Ronald’s significant other, Carly Marie Delvalle put up a heartfelt message about her times with and her connection to Ronald Massaro. Keith left a message on the site as well and the obituary page includes a tribute video to Ronald.
Another close friend of the Massaro family, Doreen Apicella-Marrero, feels that Ronald had to have been at the wrong place at the wrong time in regards to the incident. Keith Hanlon said that Ronald had hopes of working in fashion and to start his own brand.
“He took care of his father and was a huge role model for his niece,” Hanlon said. “He was just a great guy.”
POST Wrestling would like to send our condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the Massaro family.
