NXT TakeOver: WarGames concluded with Undisputed ERA (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) defeating Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan in WarGames. Shortly after the show, Paul “Triple H” Levesque hosted the post-TakeOver media call and below are notes from the call (audio via F4WOnline):
– Levesque feels that NXT fired on all cylinders for the show.
– He heaps praise onto Ariel Helwani for his pre-show appearance and Helwani’s love for wrestling.
– In regards to Candice LeRae, Levesque said she was getting an x-ray and says it’s a possible broken arm.
– Levesque spoke highly of Pat McAfee but also said the individuals around him in-ring wise have helped greatly.
– Levesque is asked about Trey Miguel not joining Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz at the WWE Performance Center. He responded by saying it’s a passion business, you have to be all in and sometimes the passion is not there. For clarity, he says he wouldn’t speak about any talent specifically but those who are signed exhibit that passion.
NXT announced their ‘New Year’s Evil’ special for January 6th. It will be the brand’s first special of the new year.
During a break between matches where Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett were promoting WWE merchandise, a teaser aired for the return of Karrion Kross who has been out of action with a separated shoulder. Kross suffered the injury during his NXT Title match at TakeOver XXX against Keith Lee.

NXT Champion Finn Balor will be on 12/9 edition of NXT. Balor is recovering from a broken jaw and a blown out eardrum that he suffered at TakeOver 31. He did appear on NXT TV on the lead up to WarGames but did not get physical.
ESPN MMA reporter Ariel Helwani was on the TakeOver pre-show with Wade Barrett and Sam Roberts. Helwani stated that WWE offered him the opportunity to choose which pay-per-view pre-show he wanted to be on and he chose WarGames.
