Teams were revealed for the first-ever NXT women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and the tournament kicks off next week. Competing in the tourney are the following duos:
- Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell
- Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon
- Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter
- Mercedes Martinez & Toni Storm
On the 1/20 episode of NXT, Mercedes and Storm are taking on Carter and Catanzaro in the first round.
Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher were scheduled to compete in a Fight Pit match at New Year’s Evil but the match was pulled due to an injury suffered by Thatcher. The match will take place next week. Also scheduled for the 1/20 episode of NXT is the continuation of the men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic that’ll see KUSHIDA and Leon Ruff take on Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory along with Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado versus Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel.
To open the show, Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake) defeated Ever-Rise (Chase Parker & Matt Martel) in the first-round of the Dusty Classic. In the main event, Roderick Strong and Adam Cole advanced by defeating Tyler Breeze and Fandango.
