John Pollock and Wai Ting present a special POST Wrestling tribute to the late Bruno Sammartino, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 82.
In the first portion, John and Wai go over the incredible story of Sammartino’s emigration to the U.S. from Italy, fleeing Nazis during World War II, his introduction to professional wrestling, being blackballed from numerous states in his career, and his relationship with Vince McMahon, Sr.
The two are then joined by Dan “The Mouth” Lovranski to chat about Sammartino’s incredible legacy, his two runs as WWWF champion, his biggest drawing programs, his appeal to his audience as the ultimate hero and why the city of Toronto was such an integral part of Sammartino’s career.
We hope you enjoy this look at what of the most important figures within professional wrestling.
