Jon Moxley vs. KENTA announced for New Beginning USA on 2/26

The long-awaited match between IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley and KENTA officially has a date.

The long-awaited match between IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley and KENTA officially has a date.

On Saturday, NJPW released the information Moxley and KENTA’s match for the championship will air Friday, February 26th as part of New Beginning USA streaming on New Japan World.

Moxley has not wrestled for New Japan since the pandemic began last year and has held the United States Championship since January 4, 2020.

During Moxley’s hiatus, KENTA won the New Japan Cup USA tournament ensuring a future title shot when Moxley was able to work for the promotion.

On Friday’s edition of NJPW Strong, Moxley appeared at the end of the program at the studio in California where he confronted and attacked KENTA.

The New Beginning in USA editions of NJPW Strong will take place over two weeks. On February 19th, the first part of the special will be headlined by El Phantasmo vs. Lio Rush with Moxley vs. KENTA headlining the following week.

All episodes of NJPW Strong are filmed in California and streams Friday nights at 10 pm ET on New Japan World.
