Closing out WWE’s Fastlane pay-per-view was Daniel Bryan challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. In the end, it was Reigns pinning Bryan to retain the title but as the match was ongoing, Bryan accidentally hit his Running Knee on the official which led to Edge, who was the special enforcer for the match, making his way into the ring to officiate.
Jey Uso came down to the ring and tried to help Reigns get the advantage. After Edge and Jey Uso were taken out, Bryan was able to lock in The LeBell Lock on Reigns and Reigns tapped out but there was no official to call it. When Edge came to, he hit both Reigns and Bryan over the back with a chair. Reigns was able to recover quicker to pin Bryan and retain the Universal Title.
