The Raw Women’s Championship was in Asuka’s possession since SummerSlam 2020. At WrestleMania 37, the title changed hands when Asuka was defeated by the 24-year old Rhea Ripley.
Ripley arrived to Monday Night Raw on the 3/22 episode and issued a challenge to Asuka for the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania. When they met in the ring for their title match, the conclusion of it featured Rhea hitting her “Riptide” finisher to put Asuka away.
