Saturday, June 5th is the day of GCW’s Deathmatch Hall Of Fame ceremony and the headliner for the 2021 class is ‘Sick’ Nick Mondo.

GCW made the announcement on their social media platforms and Mondo’s induction is going to stream live on FITE TV. Mondo, a Minnesota native retired from active in-ring competition in the early 2000s and he made a return to the ring in 2017. He has not wrestled since then.

Mondo worked closely with AEW’s Jon Moxley to help Moxley put together video packages such as the video that was pushed out after Moxley’s contract with WWE expired in 2019.

Mondo is a member of the CZW Hall Of Fame and a winner of the promotion’s Tournament of Death. Mondo works with All Elite Wrestling as a director and similar to the video package he helped Moxley create for his post-WWE package, he also put together the video for Moxley’s match with Josh Barnett to promote Bloodsport II.

Following his wrestling career, Mondo went on to produce a number of films such as ‘The Trade’, ‘Fighting the Still Life’ and ‘Unscarred: The Life of Nick Mondo’.
