WWE has confirmed that the 2021 edition of SummerSlam will take place from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The annual event will take place on Saturday, August 21st on the same night as Manny Pacquiao’s fight against Errol Spence Jr. that will also be held in Las Vegas.
The news of the location for the event was first reported by Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast. Earlier on Saturday, Fightful Select confirmed that Las Vegas remained the location for SummerSlam with the deal made official last weekend.
From WWE president Nick Khan in the company’s release:
Coming out of the pandemic, it was important to us to have a big event like SummerSlam in Las Vegas. We expect to deliver a great night of sports-entertainment for the people of the city and a boost in foot traffic for the casinos and local businesses.
WWE announced the news of the location prior to Saturday’s Belmont Stakes race, which aired on NBC.
Allegiant Stadium is the home of the Las Vegas Raiders of the NFL. It will mark the second time SummerSlam has been held at a stadium and the first time since 1992 when it was held at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
Tickets for SummerSlam will go on sale Friday, June 18th.
