It was announced on Friday Night SmackDown that Bianca Belair will now defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship on next Friday’s episode in Houston, Texas.
Bayley cut a brief promo and blamed the fans for her injury.
After noting the injury to Bayley, Sonya Deville announced that Carmella will now be challenging Belair on the July 16th edition of SmackDown from the Toyota Center in front of fans in Houston.
In the same segment, Deville announced that Liv Morgan will take Carmella’s spot in the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match on July 18th.
Earlier in the day, it was revealed that Bayley suffered an injury in training and will miss approximately nine months of action. She had previously been scheduled to challenge Belair at the pay-per-view.
