Friday Night SmackDown’s viewership bounced back for the July 9th episode, its final show inside of the ThunderDome.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reports that Friday’s episode averaged 1,986,000 viewers with a 0.48 (625,000) in the 18-49 demographic.
Both figures are up from last week with viewers rising 6.7 percent from 1,986,000 viewers and the demo increasing 4.7 percent from 597,000 viewers. Last week’s episode occurred over the 4th of July weekend, which correlated with a dip in SmackDown’s 2020 performance as well.
The show did have the curiosity of how they would address and handle the news that was released Friday afternoon regarding Bayley’s injury and who would replace her against Bianca Belair.
It was SmackDown’s final episode inside of the ThunderDome as they welcome fans back beginning this Friday at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
In Canada, SmackDown averaged 134,000 viewers and 51,100 in the 25-54 demographic. It was SmackDown’s best viewership figure since June 11th with its top sports competition coming from the Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tampa Bay Rays.
This week’s episode features the following matches that are advertised:
*SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair (champion) vs. Carmella
*Roman Reigns & The Usos vs. Edge, Rey & Dominik Mysterio
*Big E. vs. Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins vs. King Nakamura
