For the first time in well over a year, IMPACT Wrestling had fans live in attendance for a show of theirs. Slammiversary took place on July 17th and fans were also in attendance for the post-pay-per-view television tapings.
Coming out of his release from WWE in 2020, Eric Young made his return to IMPACT Wrestling and he went on to capture the IMPACT World Championship. Young has since formed a group called Violent By Design with Joe Doering, Rhino and Deaner. Young has not been able to wrestle as of late because he is recovering from a torn ACL, but during a signing that IMPACT co-hosted with Highspots Wrestling Network, Young said he believes he’ll be good to go by Bound For Glory in October.
It’s bittersweet that I don’t get to compete. This three months actually is the longest I’ve gone without wrestling since 1997. So the longest was my 90-day non-compete so now this is definitely, officially the longest I’ve gone and I’ve got three months to go. So I will be cleared, I believe for October which is Bound For Glory. So, we’ll see what happens.
IMPACT announced that Bound For Glory is taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the aforementioned Slammiversary event, Violent By Design lost the IMPACT Tag Titles to The Good Brothers in a four-way match.
