With AEW presenting Fight for the Fallen against coverage of the Olympics, the show topped one million viewers and hit its highest 18-49 figure of 2021.

The Fight for the Fallen special from the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte averaged 1,108,000 viewers and 0.45 (582,000) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

It was AEW’s third consecutive week of averaging more than one million viewers for a show highlighted by the No Disqualification Match between Chris Jericho and Nick Gage in the latter’s first nationally televised match. It also featured the 5-on-5 Elimination Match that opened the show featuring Kenny Omega and Hangman Page on opposite sides.

The show was down slightly from last week’s 2021 viewership high of 1,148,000 but this week’s show increased in the 18-49 demo by 7,000 viewers and was its highest demo since December 10th, 2020.

In Canada, the show averaged 131,000 viewers with 61,100 in the 25-54 demographic. It’s notable that on Wednesday, the show didn’t air on TSN 2 as it normally does and instead, aired on TSN 5. The number was down from last week’s figure of 153,000 but it was still AEW’s second-highest number in Canada since the Blood & Guts episode on May 5, 2021.

Next week’s episode is AEW’s Homecoming event from Daily’s Place featuring Cody Rhodes vs. Malakai Black and Chris Jericho vs. Juventud Guerrera in the top matches.
