WWE Raw notes: Elias’ new character, The Miz injury update, Riddle/Randy Orton

Elias has done away with his guitar, The Miz is back on his feet and Randy Orton RKO's Riddle to close Raw

A vignette aired during the 8/9 episode of Raw featuring Elias. He burned his guitar and stated that “Elias is dead”. He was last in action on 7/19 and lost to Jaxson Ryker in a Symphony of Destruction match.

Damian Priest went one-on-one with John Morrison. During the match, there was an interaction on the outside between Priest and The Miz. Miz has been out of action since WrestleMania Backlash where he suffered a tear in his ACL in the Zombie Lumberjack match. As Priest was about to attack Miz on the outside, Miz got up from his wheelchair and ran out of camera’s view.

While Doudrop (Piper Niven) and Alexa Bliss were going one-on-one, Doudrop turned her back to Bliss and faced the doll Lilly. WWE added an animation that made the doll wink at Doudrop which led to her losing to Bliss.

In the main event of the show, the returning Randy Orton faced Raw Tag Team Champion AJ Styles. Riddle came out and evened out the numbers on the outside as Omos was getting involved in the match. After hitting an RKO onto Styles for the win, Riddle and Orton embraced before Orton gave Riddle an RKO.

NXT Champion Karrion Kross defeated Jeff Hardy in singles action. Kross is defending the NXT Championship against Samoa Joe in several weeks at TakeOver 36.

SmackDown’s Baron Corbin appeared on Raw. He was ‘hired’ by Jinder Mahal to take out Drew McIntyre. Corbin lost his match to McIntyre.
