Hiromu Takahashi is back.

Headlining the 8/27 NJPW Summer Struggle show was the return of multi-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi. In his first match since February, Takahashi picked up a win over DOUKI with his ‘Time Bomb’ finisher.

Hiromu had been out of in-ring action since February. He had to relinquish the Junior Heavyweight Title after tearing his left pectoral muscle.

He became a regular at the New Japan commentary desk and he recently had a stare down with the current Junior Heavyweight Champion Robbie Eagles. Hiromu is challenging Robbie for the title at the MetLife Dome show in September.

Today’s Summer Struggle show took place at Korakuen Hall and below are the results:

  • Ryohei Oiwa vs. Kosei Fujita goes to a 10-minute time limit draw
  • Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr. & Minoru Suzuki def. Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI & Ryusuke Taguchi
  • Jeff Cobb & Great-O-Khan def. Kazuchika Okada & Togi Makabe
  • Robbie Eagles def. Master Wato
  • Hiromu Takahashi def. DOUKI
