AEW Dynamite notes: CM Punk hits ‘GTS’, Gunn Club turns on Paul Wight, Jon Moxley

CM Punk hits the GTS, Jon Moxley's homecoming next week, Gunn Club turns on Paul Wight and more from AEW Dynamite

CM Punk was back in front of his home-state crowd in Illinois on tonight’s Dynamite. He was beat down by Daniel Garcia and 2point0 (Matt Lee & Jeff Parker). Punk was saved by Sting and his opponent at All Out, Darby Allin. All three men hit their respective finishers and Punk was last to do so. He hit the ‘GTS’ onto Jeff Parker before having a stare-off with Darby. Sting announced that he will not be ringside for Punk and Darby’s match.

Paul Wight came to blows with The Factory and QT Marshall. The Factory had the numbers game on Wight and got the advantage on him. Once Wight gained control of the situation, Gunn Club (Billy, Austin & Colten Gunn) came to the ring. Billy ended up ambushing Wight with a steel chair.

The 9/8 Dynamite is going to be live from Cincinnati, Ohio and being advertised for the show is the homecoming of former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.

In the main event, The Elite (Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) took on Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, Rey Fenix & Penta El Zero M. Matt Jackson pinned Fenix for the win. The Young Bucks and The Lucha Brothers are scheduled meet for the AEW World Tag Titles in a Steel Cage at All Out.

To open Dynamite, Santana and Ortiz defeated FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler). This was Wheeler’s first match back since his injury at Fight For The Fallen.
