Dirty Dango details his return to NXT in 2019 and the future of Breezango.
After suffering a tear in his labrum in 2018, Dirty Dango f.k.a. Fandango made his return to the ring in 2019 for the NXT brand and realigned with his partner Tyler Breeze. The duo remained with NXT until their respective releases from WWE this past June.
Throughout their recent run in NXT, they were able to capture the brand’s tag team titles. While doing a virtual signing for The Asylum Wrestling Store, Dirty Dango stated that he requested to go back to NXT. He thinks if he and Breeze went back to Raw or SmackDown, they would have been lost in the shuffle.
It was [a good choice to go back to NXT], yeah. I got injured a couple years ago and [Tyler] Breeze was down in NXT and I came back and had a meeting with Hunter and asked him if it was okay for me to go back to NXT as well and he thought it was a good idea so, it was good. I think if we went back to Raw or SmackDown, we probably would have got lost in the mix so I think NXT was a good fit for us.
Dango has been making the rounds on the independent scene since his release and Breeze has not wrestled in a sanctioned match since June. Dango said he believes they’ll be working together in-ring but Breeze has been dealing with a shoulder issue. Breeze recently revealed that he has a tear in his shoulder.
I think so, yeah [he and Tyler Breeze will be working together in-ring]. I think his shoulder’s been bothering him so he’s taking a little time off. He’s just doing appearances right now with me. He’s not wrestling but… he should be wrestling because he’s younger than me.
Dango was in action on 10/31 at the ‘Next Generation Wrestling’ show which is where Mance Warner and Danhausen both suffered their respective injuries.
