Hardy gives his take on his last feud before moving to SmackDown.
On night two of the 2021 WWE Draft, Austin Theory made his return to Monday Night Raw and ambushed Jeff Hardy. Before doing so, he asked Hardy if they could take a photo together and that turned into a program that lasted until Hardy officially joined the SmackDown roster.
Hardy was interviewed by SPORTbible and reflected on his short program with Theory. Hardy feels it did him no favors but he’s aware that the focus is on future talents such as Austin Theory.
There’s no way to get around it and not look stupid. It’s me helping him out because he’s the future and I’m not. It’s cool to give them the rub in pro wrestling as they say – and hopefully it helps in the longer run.
Jeff is 44 years of age and has been wrestling since the mid 90s. He discussed how he’s feeling physically and said it’s a day-to-day and week-to-week thing but overall, he’s feeling good.
Right now, I’m feeling good. [My] back and neck got beat up a little bit but the chiropractor and masseuse here has been great. It’s kind of just a day-to-day, week-to-week thing. I live my life pretty much one day at a time, focusing on the day, hopefully sleep and do it all again tomorrow.
At Survivor Series, Jeff will be representing SmackDown in the traditional five-on-five elimination match. Coming out of the most recent SmackDown, Sami Zayn was removed the Survivor Series team after losing to Hardy in a singles match.
