The finals of the 2021 Best of the Super Juniors tournament are set following Saturday’s card.

The annual tournament will come down to Hiromu Takahashi and YOH this Wednesday when New Japan Pro Wrestling returns to Sumo Hall.

On Saturday’s show, Takahashi defeated Robbie Eagles in the main event to finish with fifteen points and secure first place. Earlier in the show, YOH defeated former Roppongi 3K teammate SHO to finish with fourteen points.

YOH’s spot in the final was secured after El Phantasmo played spoiler and beat El Desperado. Desperado had thirteen points going into the final day of round-robin matches and would have earned a spot in the finals with a victory.

Takahashi and YOH had the shortest match of the tournament with the four-time IWGP junior heavyweight champion beating YOH in 3 minutes and 55 seconds.

El Desperado, the current junior heavyweight champion, had several losses throughout the tournament to SHO, YOH, and Taiji Ishimori and had a 30-minute draw with Takahashi.

The finals take place this Wednesday on the same night as the finals of the ongoing World Tag League.

Takahashi has previously won the Best of the Super Juniors in 2018 and 2020.

Below are the results from Saturday and final point totals for each participant:
*Hiromu Takahashi (15 points) over Robbie Eagles (12)
*El Phantasmo (12) over El Desperado (13)
*YOH (14) over SHO (12)
*Ryusuke Taguchi (10) over Taiji Ishimori (12)
