Nick Wayne noted that due to circumstances outside of his or GCW’s control, he could not wrestle on the show at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Sunday.
In the state of New York, which oversees professional wrestling, no one under the age of eighteen can participate in an event, which was confirmed to POST Wrestling by the New York State Athletic Commission.
Due to circumstances that neither I nor GCW had control of, I was unfortunately not able to perform tonight at The Wrld on GCW at Hammerstein Ballroom. We still live to perform another day, Love y’all ❤️ Tonight was history making.

Wayne, the son of the late Buddy Wayne, was born in July 2005 and is sixteen years old.
He had been announced for the pre-show scramble match with Jack Cartwheel, Dante Leon, Grim Reefer, Ninja Mack, and Alex Zayne. Wayne was replaced in the match by Shane Mercer.
From Section 1015 of the General Business Legislation:
No person under the age of eighteen years shall participate in any authorized professional combative sports, and no person under sixteen years of age shall be permitted to attend thereat as a spectator, provided, however, that a person under the age of sixteen may be permitted to attend as a spectator if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Wayne was asked by Joey Janela who he would like to face at Spring Break, and he replied with the name Will Ospreay. The New Japan star responded to the tweet with an emoji indicating he wants the match too. Janela insisted they did not plan this interaction out in advance on Twitter.
