Brian Kendrick opted to request his release weeks ago, per report.

In late 2020, Brian Kendrick transitioned out of his in-ring role with WWE and began working for the company as a producer for the 205 Live and NXT brands. According to PWInsider, Kendrick requested his release from WWE and has been waiting for an update on his status for over a month.

On December 15th, Kendrick appeared on NXT 2.0 and was tossed down a flight of stairs by Harland. Kendrick later put out a video on social media to address Harland and it was confirmed by WWE that Kendrick would be taking on Harland in singles competition but that match did not take place.

While Harland and Joe Gacy were waiting in the ring, Kendrick’s theme song played but he did not appear.

In 2016, Kendrick competed in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament and was a part of the launch of 205 Live. He went on to become the second individual to host the most recent version of the Cruiserweight Title.

Last week, fellow WWE talent Mustafa Ali publicly announced that he requested his release from WWE.
