Master Wato & Ryusuke Taguchi capture IWGP Junior Tag Titles at NJPW Golden Series

New IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions crowned at the 2/19 NJPW Golden Series show

New IWGP Junior Tag Champions crowned.

Today’s NJPW Golden Series show emanated from Hokkaido, Japan and at the event, new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions were crowned.

There was a four-way involving the champions Tiger Mask and Robbie Eagles, El Phantasmo and Taiji Ishimori, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and El Desperado along with Master Wato and Ryusuke Taguchi. Coming away with the victory was the duo of Taguchi and Wato.

Taguchi is now a 7-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. He previously had runs with El Samurai, Finn Balor and Ricochet.

This title win is Master Wato’s first in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. He was a Young Lion from 2016 to 2018 and returned during the summer of 2020.
