AEW Rampage saw a giant spike for this past Friday’s episode featuring Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson in featured matches.

The April 9th taped edition of the show averaged 600,000 viewers and approximately 328,000 (0.25) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics Radio and Showbuzz Daily.

It was the show’s highest 18-49 number on its regular night of the week since October 1st of last year (a Saturday night edition of the show on Christmas did perform higher) and its largest overall audience since January 28th.

Rampage finished fourth among cable originals, which is very impressive for the show, and was only beaten by ESPN’s coverage of the Masters.

After three weeks of disappointing figures, this week’s show saw massive leaps from last week with a giant increase of 70 percent in the 18-49 and growing its 18-34 audience from 56,000 to 116,000 this week. The females 18-34 demo more than quadrupled last week’s average.

The only demo that did not increase was 50+, which fell from 0.21 to 0.20 this week.

Cable programming was led by coverage of the Masters golf tournament that averaged 3,883,000 and 0.64 in 18-49 during the afternoon on ESPN with a repeat of the second round airing from 8-11 p.m. ET and averaging 974,000 and 0.26.

This week’s episode will be a test given that they are presenting a major championship between Hangman Page and Adam Cole but Rampage will air outside its timeslot at 7 p.m. Eastern and 4 p.m. on the west coast.
