Four-way for IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Title announced for NJPW Capital Collision

IWGP U.S. Title match made official for Capital Collision.

Saturday, May 14th is the date of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Capital Collision special in Washington D.C. and it has been made official that Hiroshi Tanahashi will be defending the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Title at the show.

The newly crowned champion Tanahashi is going to defend in a four-way involving Will Ospreay, Jon Moxley and Bullet Club’s newest member, Juice Robinson.

 

At Wrestling Dontaku, Tanahashi was originally supposed to take on Ospreay for the vacant IWGP U.S. Title but Ospreay contracted COVID days before the show. Juice Robinson ambushed Tanahashi following his victory as he revealed himself to be a member of Bullet Club.

As of this writing, here’s the updated Capital Collision lineup:

  • Tomohiro Ishii vs. Eddie Kingston
  • Brody King vs. Minoru Suzuki
  • Jay White & Hikuleo vs. Trent Beretta & Kazuchika Okada
  • IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship — Four-Way Match: Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) vs. Juice Robinson vs. Will Ospreay vs. Jon Moxley
