XFL reaches broadcast rights agreement.

The XFL which is now owned by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Dany Garcia has unveiled its broadcast rights deal. The announcement was made at the 2022 Upfronts that the league has reached a multi-year agreement with ESPN and The Walt Disney Company for their exclusive broadcast rights from 2023 through 2027.

Each season’s 43 games are going to air and stream across ABC, ESPN and FX.

In August 2020, it was made public that Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia were part of a group that purchased the XFL for $15 million.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the XFL filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy while owned by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

Former league commission Oliver Luck filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against McMahon but McMahon filed a countersuit. After partaking in a settlement conference in March, an agreement was not reached.
